The family dentists at Park Dental’s Children’s Care Program in the Twin Cities, greater Minnesota and Western Wisconsin offer dental procedures as well as comprehensive preventive care to keep kids’ teeth healthy throughout childhood.

Dental Cleanings

At your child’s first visit, the dentist may need to remove plaque, stains and tartar. But mostly, the dentist will teach you how to care for your baby’s teeth or teach your child how to start brushing and flossing his or her teeth, depending on your child’s age.

Cleanings will become part of regular dental visits as children get older. Our family dentists and hygienists know how stressful cleanings can be on children, and they take care to make the experience as comfortable as possible for children. Regular cleaning helps prevent tooth decay and cavities, one of the most common conditions among U.S. children.

Fillings and Sealants

Our family dentists use fillings and sealants to prevent or treat cavities. Sealants are semi-permanent coatings that prevent bacteria from getting stuck in the grooves in the teeth. Fillings are materials used to fill existing cavities.

Tooth Extractions

Parents get pretty good at pulling teeth as baby teeth give way to permanent teeth. But there are times when a skilled family dentist is the best person for the job.

Your child may need a tooth extraction due to decay or a sports injury or other accident. As kids get older, they may need their wisdom teeth pulled. Park Dental’s family dentists perform tooth extractions for a variety of reasons and can make sure both kids and parents are comfortable with the process and what to expect after the procedure.
