Get to Know Dr. Ashley Verbick

This week in our “Get to Know the Park Dental Doctors” feature we’re profiling Dr. Ashley M. Verbick from our Big Lake practice. In her profile, Dr. Verbick shares her treatment philosophy, what she enjoys about being a dentist, as well as some fun facts about her personal life. What made you choose dentistry? 

I’ve always wanted to help people and love the fine art aspect of working with my hands. 

What do you love most about being a dentist or what do you find the most rewarding? 

I really love being able to educate my patients to help them stay healthy and love their smile, while forming meaningful, long term, and trusting relationships. 

What’s your care/treatment philosophy? 

My biggest goal with patient care is to always work toward better oral health – to help educate patients and motivate them to make good decisions and trust me to give them the best treatment possible. 

Is there a particular area of dentistry you enjoy the most or like to focus on? 

I really enjoy the variety of general dentistry and particularly enjoy the aesthetic aspect of giving people a beautiful smile. 

When did you start or how many years have you been with Park Dental? 

I started treating medically compromised patients in 2016 at the University of Minnesota Physicians Riverside Dental Clinic for a year. Then I started with Park Dental in 2017.  

What is one thing you love most about Park Dental? 

The community of doctors and team members, and the never ending continuing education opportunities.  

What do you enjoy most about being part of a group practice? 

The fact that there are always helping hands nearby, and the accountability from and collaboration with other dentists to always provide the most quality care possible.  

 

Now, let’s get to know Dr. Verbick on a more personal level!

 

What was your very first job? 

Concession stands and park management at the city baseball, softball, football and soccer fields, and the indoor YMCA/hockey arena.  

What do you like to do on your days off? 

Traveling and generally being outdoors with my husband, daughter, and 2 pups.  

What’s your favorite food or drink? 

TACOS. Hands down.  

Who is your hero or who inspires you? 

My family is definitely my biggest inspiration. 

What is an interesting fact that people may not know about you? 

I am a childhood cancer survivor.  

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? 

I would love to spend time in GREECE. It looks so beautiful and warm!  

What’s your favorite genre of music to listen to? 

Country.

What are your hobbies? 

I like to read and do crafts, but I REALLY enjoy anything pertaining to interior design! 

What’s your favorite holiday? 

Christmas, because I get to see family I don’t otherwise see often.  

What’s your favorite thing about living in Minnesota? 

I really enjoy the change of seasons – I get too bored with one season for too long! 

What’s your favorite season? 

Either hottest part of summer, or snowiest part of winter – I love the extremes!  

What’s your favorite color? 

PINK! 

What’s your favorite animal? 

Doggos, pups, a woman’s best friend! 

How many different states have you lived in? 

Just 2 – Minnesota and Illinois.

Any additional information you would like to share? 

I have been on 2 mission trips to Guatemala, providing free dentistry to Guatemalan residents for a week at a time. I love these type of outreach opportunities to hep others who otherwise can’t get the care they need.
