Holiday Season Teeth Tips

December 22, 2023

We at Park Dental understand the urge to eat a few more sweet treats around the holiday season. How can you keep your teeth healthy and happy while still being able to enjoy all the good food the holidays have to offer? Keep reading to learn a few helpful tips to incorporate into your daily life!

  1. Keep your twice a day routine!

It is highly important to brush your teeth twice a day, preferably morning and night. You’re not only brushing away harmful bacteria, but you are also brushing away leftover food debris that could otherwise stick between your teeth and could cause cavities.

     2. Avoid sticky foods

Did you know that sticky foods like caramels and taffy’s can easily harm your teeth? The sugars can seep into deep crevices in your teeth and could cause cavities to form.

     3. Drink water with and between meals

We’ve talked about how drinking water can be beneficial to keeping your teeth healthy, but we’re here to remind you once more. By drinking water with and between meals, it helps flush away leftover food debris that is hiding between your teeth and the grooves of your teeth. Water also aids in creating more saliva which is the body’s natural defense against cavities!

    4. Floss, floss, floss!

Flossing is an important step in your oral health routine that you should be doing at least once a day. Flossing not only keeps your gums healthy, but it can also aid in the prevention of cavities! To learn more about how great flossing is for your smile, check out our recent blog post about it.

    5. Schedule a cleaning

Our last tip is to remember to schedule a cleaning appointment, especially as we’re going into the new year! Stay on top of your 6 month hygiene appointments to ensure a healthy smile. Request an appointment by calling your local Park Dental practice today!

We hope that these few reminders help you out during this holiday season. We at Park Dental wish you a happy and healthy new year!

Schedule Your Appointment

Please choose the option below that best describes you:

If you have a Dental Emergency, please CALL your preferred Park Dental location.

I am an Existing Patient (16 and older) and would like to schedule my regular cleaning and exam appointment online.

I am a New Patient, a Pediatric Patient (Under 16), or an Existing Patient looking to schedule dental treatment.

If you are covered under a Medicaid (Medical Assistance/MA) plan, you must call the practice to request your appointment.

Why do some doctors not have a star rating or comments?

In order to provide our patients with the most accurate and beneficial information, we only post star ratings and comments for a doctor once they have received a minimum of 30 surveys within the previous 12 months.
