In my free time I enjoy trying new recipes, reading, and traveling (particularly to warm places and visiting my family in Montana). To stay active I take advantage of the bike trails around the city, running, and yoga.

She was short and only briefly described what I have going on in my mouth. I had to ask her questions in order to find out the basic information about the results of my x-rays. She was overall off putting and did not make me feel cared for at all. As someone who has a lot anxiety revolving around my mouth and teeth, she was not an inviting person to discuss my concerns with. She was in the room for less than 2 minutes and had an energy of wanting to wrap up our discussion as quickly as possible, and as such I didn't feel able to ask the questions I had regarding my oral health. She didn't propose any treatment plan for the cavity that showed up in my x-ray, and when I asked what I should do about it she just said "keep flossing." Overall a very disheartening and unpleasant experience. She is the reason people like me get anxious about going to the dentist.

A new dentist came into the room. Upon examining my mouth, she began to discus a tooth in hushed dental terms to her assistant, though It is my teeth she is referring to. Then, another tooth is referred to with more soft technical terms. I can hear this, I am the person she should be talking to. I feel like an object, a specimen they can ponder over who has no ears. I decide she will not be working on my mouth right then and there.

Would have appreciated the option to remove old mercury fillings before putting a crown over the tooth. Was too far into the process when I realized she wasn't taking out the old fillings and then added to the price to do so. (I understand that a "build-up" may have been needed) Would prefer if more organic/holistic options were available.

I did not like the dentist I had. But I really enjoyed the hygenist. The hygenist answered all of my questions thoroughly. The dentist herself told me I had a cavity and left. Literally nothing else from her. Just gave me negative news and then walked away.
