I have a passion for dentistry and enjoy the wide variety of procedures that I get to perform each and every day as well as the chance to develop long term patient relationships. I believe patient education is an essential component of quality dental care so knowing that my patients fully understand their current oral health as well as all their treatment options is extremely important to me.

In my free time I enjoy traveling, music, skiing, tennis, and taking care of my three pet goldfish. I live in Minneapolis with my wife, Leslie, and we enjoy exploring the city and cooking together.

The dentist is good. My only issue was that he wears microscope lenses over his glasses to examine my teeth. I understand how those are helpful, but when it came to a brief discussion after the exam, he never removed the scopes. I couldn't make real eye contact with him. It felt inconsiderate. I know this is a small thing but maybe the dentist should have another set of glasses he can wear when doing consultations.

Got paired with my dentist just at my last cleaning. Wasn't sure if we are a good match. Turns out dr. Hovda is THE best, and I don't want to see anyone else. He took the time and cafe to make sure to fugure out what was wrong with my tooth and was able to fix it without a crown (proposed by one of your other dentists)

I had a previous experience with extreme pain at an appt at a different dentist years ago, and Dr Hovda was patient and kind while listening to my story and took great care to make sure I was comfortable throughout my procedure this week.
